So trying out this blog part on the site. I hadn't intended to really, but had an occasion to go through some boxes and realized that my collection of bobbleheads now ranges in the several hundreds.
I started out getting all kinds of bobbles back when they sold them in Target and WalMart. This seemed to be the heyday of AGP, so I stuck with it and have to say 98% of what I have is AGP. I like these the best to be honest, they are characatures of the players and are not so serious to need tons of detailing. They are fun...
I started buy tons of them on ebay to be honest, even today if you to and sort by lowest price plus shipping you will find many at $1 or so and can quickly build up a collection.
I have settled down in the last few years though, only adding a few per year, mostly mascot themed ones. My favorite, and most expensive one I bought though remains my Muhammad Ali. I can still remember seeing him fight back when I was younger. It took me a while to find that one and you don't see them all that much anymore.
My top wanted ones are:
Pittsburgh Parrot AGP
Pinchy (Lakewood Blueclaws mascot) AGP
Bernie Brewer proto AGP (not sure this was even made)
Rickey Henderson Red Sox AGP proto
San Diego Padres Swinging Friar AGP (think this must be a proto or never made)
Shea Hillenbrand Red Sox AGP
Hideo Nomo Red Sox AGP
CC Sabathia Indians AGP
Satchel Paige Indians AGP
Paws Tigers mascot AGP (this may have been a proto as well)
Vlad Guerrero Expos AGP
Junction Jack Astros mascot AGP (again I think a proto)
I would love to see AGP put out a list, very much like our database, with pictures of every bobble they have ever made. Their website hasn't been updated in years.
Thanks much to Bobblebum for this site!
